While the event out at the Siren Cove Lodge and Resort hadn't been a bad way to start off in a new town, April hadn't bothered trying to get a room, instead opting to return to her apartment in town. She supposes she might have been able to find someone willing to share, but she's not quite prepared to jump into such arrangements, instead choosing to watch those around her, interacting with them to test the waters and see what they might be able to do for her.
Today she's doing a bit of exploring. She walks the boardwalk, looking into store windows as she goes -- a few of them are closed, their owners out at the Lodge, she expects -- and then through town. She passes the library, a police station, several cafes and small restaurants. Thus far she isn't sure what to make of Siren Cove, if the name has anything to do with what she might find or if she's just killing more time before she has to move on again. There's a part of her that wants to find nothing except a little bit of fun, but there's another, quiet part of her looking for something more. Some explanation as to what she is, where she's come from.
She's wearing a cute summer dress and a pair of strappy heels and she's dressed this way with intention. It's a sweet, approachable look and yet the heels are just unstable enough for it to look genuine when she trips, one ankle twisting as she reaches out for the nearest passerby.
"Oh, god, I'm sorry," she says, laughing at herself, looking faintly embarrassed. "It's these shoes. Are you alright?"

Hearing the sound of heels on pavement, Will glanced up and looked over his shoulder at the woman walking towards him. Offering her a warm smile, he reached out to steady her as she stumbled- tripped into him. Hands sliding down her arms, he kept her steady as he stared down at the apparently offending shoes.
"Well, no doubt it's those shoes. They look entirely like trouble. But you, you have nothing to apologise for." Will said with a smile. Taking a step back, he held out his hands to see if she could keep herself up but ready to catch her if she couldn't. He couldn't let such a beautiful woman fall flat on her face, imagine the headlines. "And I'm pretty sure that should be my question... are you okay?"

"I'm fine, really," she says with a faint laugh and he still has his hands out, so she sees no reason to take hers off his arm just yet. Money, yes, but he has more than that working for him. "Just trying to get the lay of the land and here I am, tripping all over strangers instead."

Her gaze drifts over him, that same smile still curving her lips before she lifts her eyes back to meet his. "You're heading back out there?" It seems like a good number of people are attending, which has worked out well for her. It's easier to check out what a town has to offer when a good number of its citizens are elsewhere.

Will leaned back against his car, smiling at her charmingly before nodding at her question.
"That was the plan but if you need a tour guide then I'd be more than willing to postpone for a little while longer."

"If someone is expecting you, I'd have for you to keep them waiting," she says, although she has no intention of letting him go. If he heads back to the Lodge any time soon, she suspects she'll be going with him. "Girlfriend?" she asks with a teasing smile. "Wife?" He's not wearing a ring, but there's no harm in checking.

"I take it you don't read the papers then? No, no girlfriend or wife." Will replied, tilting his head a little as he looked at her interestedly. A puzzle he wanted to figure out. "Just the Senator and his wife, my parents, and they should be used to me not showing up on time for anything by now."

It wouldn't be the first time she's made it into newspapers, but she does do her best to keep a low profile. Sometimes, though, it's worth it to break that rule. "So there's no one to be disappointed if you take a little time to show me around?" she asks. "Or would it be better if I were to go with you back to the Lodge?"

Will grinned at her, all mischief at the corner of his eyes. He thought she was bound to be trouble but he did always love Trouble. He shook his head at the question, taking a step closer to her as he pushed his hands into his jean pockets.
"Why not both? What are you looking to see round here?"
no subject
"Points of interest," she answers with a smile for him. "When everyone comes back from the Lodge, where are the most relevant places in town? What does Siren Cove have to offer a new arrival?" It helps that he's from here, that he seems to know the town well, that he enjoys a high placement in the society. This is exactly what she's looking for to help her get settled. "Show me some of those and then we can go back and get a drink."
no subject
"You good on that ankle or do you want me to drive?" He asked, indicating with a wave of his hand to his car before giving her the option of his arm. Either way, he wasn't going to be rushing back to the Lodge just yet. He'd rather spend the time getting to know April. "And well, it depends on what you want to do while you're here."

She smiles up at him again, her hand tightening on his arm briefly. "Things a little more fun. So where does one go in Siren Cove for fun?"
no subject
"Yeah, wrong person to ask about work but the more interesting things? That I think I can help with," he replied, brushing is thumb over the hand at his elbow. Smiling, he led her down the street only ducking slightly to compensate for his height. "Depends on what you like. Me, I'm usually at the beach or on my boat. I'm more of a... water guy. But if you like the town then it has to be the Watersong."
no subject
In time.
"What's Watersong?" she asks curiously, looking up at him as they walk. "A bar?"

"I expect the club is closed if only because it really does seem like everyone is out at that Lodge. I wish I'd been in town early enough to hear about it. I could have rented one of those cute cabins for the weekend and then I wouldn't feel like I was missing out on so much of the party."

Her eyebrows lift at his suggestion and she gently bites her lower lip, looking up as if she's considering what he's saying. "Well, we better get me mingling at that party if that's the plan," she teases. "You'll have to point out all those with a cabin large enough to accommodate me."

Not that flirting with him is any hardship. She can't deny she's having fun.

"It's not my hands you have to worry about-" Will replied. His hand sliding across April's hip, feeling the dress bunch a little beneath his palm as he brings them to a stop. Looking at her with a teasing smile, he raised an eyebrow at her. "-it's my mouth. Forever getting me into trouble."
no subject
"What sort of trouble?" she asks. "Or is this a show don't tell sort of story?"

Leaning down he brushed a teasing kiss against her lips, hand sliding down to press her more up against him. The heat of her skin through that damned dress making him kiss her a little harder.
