Caden snorts at the dig at Corrine, reaching up to put his hand over his mouth and shake his head, though he doesn't disagree. His feelings towards Corrine are complicated, but he's more than happy to not have to spend time with her.
He laughs again at her question and curls a lock of her hair around his finger as he pretends to think. "Drive fast cars and spend too much money on food?"
But maybe a fancy dinner wouldn't be so bad. They could get dressed up and go to that place up on the cliff with the killer view and order expensive wine and pretentious food. He's about to suggest it when the door bell suddenly rings, and Caden looks up at April in confusion.
"I wonder who that is." He lifts her off of his lap and sets her back on the sofa, leaning in for a quick kiss before heading for the door. He isn't expecting anyone, so he's doubly surprised to open the door and get an armful of bubbly blonde.
"Surprise!" Caden laughs and grabs his sister by the shoulders, pushing her back to get a look at her smiling face.
"Callie! What are you doing here?" He had mentioned to his sister that he was going to be here, but he made no mention of meeting up with her, and she said nothing about coming down.
"I wanted to see my big brother," Calliope says with a roll of her eyes. "You know, the one who had to move all the way across the country."
She hugs him again and then freezes as she looks over his shoulder. It's then that the shock of seeing his sister wears off enough for him to realize that April is still sitting on the sofa. Caden bites his lip and spins slowly on his heel, shooting April an apologetic look behind Callie's back.
"Oh my god, this must be April." She goes over to the sofa and holds out her hand with a bright grin. "I'm Calliope. It's so nice to finally meet you!"
