She knows it isn't necessarily fair to Caden, the fact that she's reluctant to say much of what's on her mind, but it seems like the further she tries to run from her betrayals, the closer they get. She does her best to act dismissive around and about her father, but the truth is that seeing him does something inside her, twists her stomach up, makes her feel like she wants to be sick.

He left her. He left two daughters in the hands of an addict, in the arms of a dangerous foster care system and he never looked back and now he has the gall to tell her he's followed her life. And she had trusted Les. She'd trusted him more than she's let herself trust anyone in a long time, but she knows now. He'll go to Corrine before her. Trust gets her hurt.

It's why she won't say anything now, it's why she's scared to. Caden kisses her and she moans softly against his mouth, arching her hips down. He kisses her like he cares about her, like he would do anything, and she's terrified of trusting that.
