Caden smiles a little and nods, shrugging slightly and ducking his head. He feels a bit silly and he bites his lip, thinking for a moment. "I just meant the one where a guy moves to a new town and meets a beautiful girl on the beach," he says quietly. He hadn't even been thinking about his disappearance or her family when he mentioned their story, but it's obviously on her mind.

He links his hands at the small of her back and looks up at her with concern, gaze soft as he searches her face. "Are you sure there isn't anything you want to talk about? I know you've gone through a lot lately."

Her face when she had said that Les was going home with Corry pops into his head and he leans in to press a soft kiss just below the hollow of her throat. It's an odd situation they're in. Caden isn't April's boyfriend, and sometimes it's hard not to feel like second best, but she's here with him now. That means something. He means something. He's just not sure what it is.

After another lingering kiss to her soft skin, he pulls back to look up at her again. "Whatever you need, I'm here."
