"Much too close," she agrees and she reaches for him without thinking, taking care not to scratch him with her nails. One of her hands slides over his shoulder before she flicks her tail, putting some distance between them again. She has to tell him what she learned from the letter, she has to tell him that she's related to the woman she's fairly certain is his closest friend, but the thought of having to return to that right now is too much.
