While the event out at the Siren Cove Lodge and Resort hadn't been a bad way to start off in a new town, April hadn't bothered trying to get a room, instead opting to return to her apartment in town. She supposes she might have been able to find someone willing to share, but she's not quite prepared to jump into such arrangements, instead choosing to watch those around her, interacting with them to test the waters and see what they might be able to do for her.

Today she's doing a bit of exploring. She walks the boardwalk, looking into store windows as she goes -- a few of them are closed, their owners out at the Lodge, she expects -- and then through town. She passes the library, a police station, several cafes and small restaurants. Thus far she isn't sure what to make of Siren Cove, if the name has anything to do with what she might find or if she's just killing more time before she has to move on again. There's a part of her that wants to find nothing except a little bit of fun, but there's another, quiet part of her looking for something more. Some explanation as to what she is, where she's come from.

She's wearing a cute summer dress and a pair of strappy heels and she's dressed this way with intention. It's a sweet, approachable look and yet the heels are just unstable enough for it to look genuine when she trips, one ankle twisting as she reaches out for the nearest passerby.

"Oh, god, I'm sorry," she says, laughing at herself, looking faintly embarrassed. "It's these shoes. Are you alright?"

"You're going to make me fall in love by teaching me how to swim. I never heard that one before. Or were we still talking about hiccups?"

"Yeah, well, I'm not expecting much, to be honest," Daisy says, glancing down at the ground briefly before meeting the other woman's gaze. "I mean, he knocked my mother up with me and then left, so I suspect my father hails from the same breed as yours in terms of 'winners.'"

Daisy isn't sure what she plans to do, now that she is here in Siren Cove, the place her father wrote on the napkin. She doesn't know if she wants to find him, but then again, she wants answers potentially only he can give her.

"I definitely would, but I can tell you already that it won't do anything with me anymore. Except remind me of everything I've lost and how it's no fun without bullets in the gun."
He licks his lips. "That was bad, I'm sorry."

"It's not my hands you have to worry about-" Will replied. His hand sliding across April's hip, feeling the dress bunch a little beneath his palm as he brings them to a stop. Looking at her with a teasing smile, he raised an eyebrow at her. "-it's my mouth. Forever getting me into trouble."

"I agree," Daisy nods with a laugh of her own that manages to conceal the bitterness beneath. She does want to start a new life for herself, but it's hard to let go of a volatile, potent past that rears its ugly head at every mention of a father who brought her to an entirely new state. "But I'm hoping I can just, like, settle down here. Maybe not the whole 'white picket fence' bullshit, but like, a place to call my own, you know?"

"You wouldn't be the first, and that's okay. We can't always be the first, can we? Just as long as you don't worry your pretty little head over it. We'll both be okay. Do I need a swim suit for classes?"

"Wouldn't be the first time either." He follows her gaze. "Maybe the locals are just too easily scandalized. Wouldn't I be under water most of the time anyway?"

"Ugh, kids," Daisy rolls her eyes, though she still smiles. She's been through the whole pregnancy scare thing once, and she doesn't care to do it again. Whenever she hooks up with anyone now, she makes sure to use layers of intricate spells and other, more human methods of protection. "I wouldn't mind the dog though."

"I don't blame you," Daisy says. She wouldn't actively look for an animal to take in, but well, if a stray showed up on her door, she absolutely couldn't refuse. She quirks an eyebrow when she points in the direction of a handsome, well-dressed man. "And I don't blame you for that, either."

"I just don't own one, yet. Just in case you feel uncomfortable with shocking people? I understand. I'm like that."

He inhales deeply, keeping the water close. "Wanna share what was?"

"I think, beneath the terribly quaint surface, there's more here than meets the eye," Daisy agrees. As a witch, she can sense the various powers all around her, a myriad of abilities that fascinates her and makes her dream of if she might be able to make some interesting connections with said powers.

Daisy recognizes the glancing over April gives her and returns it with a practiced ease; strange familiarity aside, the other woman is rather beautiful, and Daisy can think of worse things than flirting with a beautiful stranger on the boardwalk.

"Looks that, way, at the moment," she answers with a smile. "Unless something changes my mind."
